While we (Brooklyn and Mom) were at Yellowstone, Eric became ill and went to urgent care on Tuesday. He was diagnosed with a viral infection but was given antibiotics. (side note: you can't treat a viral infection with an antibiotic) So not knowing that, he went along his days or taking the medicine that was prescribed. He realized his fever was not going away, and his throat has gotten really sour, he could not stand for long periods or hardly walk. So after a few days, Saturday, he told me he couldn't take it anymore and nothing was improving. So we called our insurance nurse and the urgent care and they both told Eric to go to the E.R. So we packed our bags and headed to the ER. Eric later laughed when he realized i didn't bring Brooklyn a sippy or more treats. i didn't realized how long we would be there. Anyways, we got there, they did every test known to man there.
The tough question on the night was, it could be meningitis, and if it was, they needed to do a spinal tap, to see if it was the dear death one or common one. Eric is a sport with a lot of things, but like most people needles and needles into your lower back will make anyone squirm out of their seat. After a few minutes of talking it over with me, Eric took the plunge.
He agreed to the spinal tap. I was out side controlling our hungry and sleep deprived daughter, so unfortunately i was not able to comfort or hold his hands during this painful procedure; but he was a champ. Thank goodness it was not meningitis. We should find out today if his cultures come back with bacteria or not. But it was a very crazy and tiring experience. The staff was good for the most part. And we are glad it is nothing serious or life threating. I love my husband very much and can not afford to lose him. Beside being sore from the spinal tap and a little week still, Eric is back on his feet and doing good.

So sorry that happened to Eric! I'm glad he is doing better. How stressful it is when something happens to your husband who you love and truly depend on! I hope you still made some good memories of Yellowstone. I bet Brooklyn loved seeing all the wildlife.
