Brooklyn is no stranger to the Dentist. She has gone twice when she was 2 years old. Even thought they mostly just talked to her and showed her a few things. But this time at 3 1/2 it was different.
First off we told her she was going to the Dentist a week or so in advance, i brought up the subject many times, told her what they do and so on. She was actually excited to go that day. I did tell her i would award her with an Ice cream cone if she followed instruction and was a big girl. But boy was i surprised.
I expected shyness and boy was i wrong. She answered questions and did exactly what they said to do. She was excited about the "cleaning paste" cause it tasted like strawberries and if you know Brooklyn, you know that is her favorite.
She had x-rays, cleaning, and an "exam" done. She had no cavities and was such a good sport.
She was very proud of herself being a big girl and all. She made sure she told dad all about it and Grandma on the computer that night.
I was very proud of her, its fun watching Brooklyn become such an independent, smart, and good girl. I know this is such a small thing, but makes me excited for what else she might do to make us proud. Also a little sad, cause my first born is growing up so fast and is more than i could ever dreamed she would become...so far.
